Three-star standout staying close to home
Two-way standout Brian Brown (Richmond, Va./Hermitage) will stay close to home.
Brown has committed to play for Richmond, multiple sources report.
Brown, who is scheduled to make an official visit to Richmond next weekend, also holds scholarship offers from East Carolina and Pittsburgh.
This fall, he was named district defensive player of the year after recording 44 tackles and 3 interceptions. On offense, he hauled in 22 balls for 548 yards and 8 touchdowns. Brown also earned a spot on the all-metro team for his performance.
ESPN writes in his evaluation: "Brown has excellent size at the receiver position. He looks the part and his measurables alone give you something to work with, but likely a possession player for the next level... Also plays defense at safety and shows promise there."
Both of Richmond's 2013 pledges which have received grades from ESPN, Brown and athlete Charles Mack (Norcross, Ga./Wesleyan), are considered three-star prospects. Mack committed in late October.
