ESPN 300 WR cancels OSU visit
By Brad Bournival
Ohio State’s official visitor list shrunk by one when an ESPN 300 wide receiver was a late scratch.
Ryan Timmons (Frankfort, Ky./Franklin County) decided not to head to Columbus, Ohio for the weekend. The 5-foot-11, 180-pound wide receiver didn’t have an offer from the Buckeyes, though he had Ohio State in his final four, along with Arkansas, Kentucky and Illinois.
The late subtraction is interesting considering junior college standout Corey Smith (Akron, Ohio/East Mississippi Community College) was a recent addition to the list of official visitors.
Timmons is ranked 248th overall and is the No. 28 wide receiver in the country according to ESPN.
As a senior, he carried the ball 72 times for 1,225 yards and scored 25 touchdowns. He also had 29 receptions for 965 yards and 15 more scores and returned three kickoffs for touchdowns as well.
