Kicker Brett Scanlon plans official visit
By Jared Shanker
At the beginning of the week, Brett Scanlon (Dowagiac, Mich./Union) was looking to garner more FBS interest. It didn't take long to get it.
New Western Michigan coach P.J. Fleck is interested in the strong-legged kicker, and he sent an assistant coach to speak with Scanlon on Friday. Following the meeting, Scanlon set up an official visit to Western Michigan for the weekend of Jan. 18, his first official visit of the process.
"He likes my athletic ability. He told me I'm the top guy for the job," Scanlon said.
Scanlon is still working toward his first scholarship, but he could have an answer heading into his official visit with the Broncos.
"Their goal is to make a decision about a scholarship sometime next week," Scanlon said.
Bowling Green will meet with Scanlon on Thursday, and Memphis will watch Scanlon kick Tuesday.
