Anthony Gordon likes Wyoming, Ohio
By Brad Bournival
When you bench 510 pounds and can squat 535, people notice you in a gym right away.
Throw in the fact you’re 6-foot-3 and 310 pounds with quick feet at defensive tackle, and schools will ask for film almost immediately.
That’s the case with Anthony Gordon (San Jacinto, Calif./Mount San Jacinto Community College), as he has 14 schools interested and two, Wyoming and Ohio, that have offered him.
“I’m a hard worker with good leadership,” Gordon said. “I’m a run-stopping defensive tackle.”
He'll head to Ohio on Jan. 11 and then check out Wyoming the following weekend.
Gordon indicated that he wants to take official visits to San Jose State and Middle Tennessee as well -- both have interest at this point -- but will weigh his options when it comes time.
While the Cowboys have a lead over the Bobcats right now in terms of favorites, Pearson is willing to wait things out.
“As of today, Wyoming is in the lead,” Gordon said. “I like the state. I like being outside and I like where the school is located. But that can all change.”
Gordon is a two-time All-Mountain Conference selection.
