Bearcats lose TE pledge A.J. Branisel
By Jared Shanker
Three-star A.J. Branisel (Chardon, Ohio/Notre Dame Cathedral Latin School) is no longer a Cincinnati commitment.
The No. 17 tight end-H in the country decommitted from the program Saturday, he told ESPN.com. The Bearcats are not out of contention, though.
"I'm not ruling any school out," he wrote in a text message. "Just reevaluating my options."
Branisel was offered by the previous staff at Tennessee, the school former Cincinnati coach Butch Jones left for. Branisel said he has not been contacted by the Tennessee coaches since Jones was named coach, however.
UConn, Louisville, Missouri and Nebraska are a handful of the programs to offer the 6-foot-4, 225-pound Branisel, who committed to Cincinnati in April.
