Weekend Rewind Texas A&M
By Kipp Adams and Sam Khan Jr.
Texas A&M continues to pick up commitments on the heels of its 10-2 inaugural Southeastern Conference campaign, and the latest comes from Fork Union (Va.) Military Academy receiver Ja'Quay Williams.
"After looking at everything and taking time to evaluate for now and into the future, Coach [Kevin] Sumlin, his staff, and the program is where I need to be and where I am now committed, 110 percent," Williams said. "I indicated so tonight!
"I have officially committed to Texas A&M."
Williams, a 6-foot-3, 195-pound four-star prospect from Tyrone, Ga., was originally an Auburn commitment but reopened his recruitment after the firing of Auburn coach Gene Chizik.
Williams took an official visit to Texas A&M on the weekend of Nov. 16, when the Aggies hosted Sam Houston State. He chose Texas A&M over his other top suitors at the moment: Georgia and South Carolina. He returned Sunday from South Carolina and announced his decision that night. Williams also held offers from Florida, Mississippi State, Oklahoma, Tennessee and USC.
