Junior Joseph accepts offer from UConn
By RecruitingNation
The Huskies extended a scholarship offer to Junior Joseph (West Lawn, Pa./Wilson) on Wednesday and he committed Thursday, according to multiple sources. He's lined up at defensive end, tight end and fullback in high school but could project as a linebacker in college.
"This is one of the schools that I really liked," Joseph told the Reading Eagle. "They've been talking to me since last spring. They offered yesterday and they only had one or two spots left. I couldn't visit until after the season, and I didn't want to wait to visit until December. I didn't want to take any chances."
Central Michigan, Kent State, Old Dominion, Rutgers, Toledo and Western Michigan also offered the 6-foot-1, 229-pound Joseph. Boston College, Pittsburgh and Temple showed interest.
Joseph displayed his athleticism this spring on the Nike Combine circuit when he posted an electronically-timed 4.95 40-yard dash, 4.64 20-yard shuttle, 28.1-inch vertical and 80.91 SPARQ.
UConn now has 17 verbals for 2013. Joseph will be evaluated and graded soon by ESPN.
