Scouts: Mora finds system-fitting RB
By Billy Tucker
Coach Jim Mora does a great job landing a top in-state back for the Bruins in Craig Lee (Redlands, Calif.). A big-statement commitment on paper and on film as he's a back who can do a lot of things and fits well into offensive coordinator Noel Mazzone's spread system that relies on big-play backs to excel on zone and screen concepts.
Lee has good body composition for a college back and while he can elude in space he can also be a decisive downhill runner with the vision and quickness to see and exploit cutbacks which UCLA backs will need to do in this offense. Speed can be deceptive; he's dangerous when he gets into the second level with his sudden burst and top-end to separate. Not a real powerful guy at this stage though but he has shown the ability to get tough inside yards, block and maybe most importantly, create big plays in the screen game.
