Scouts: Keeler a good fit at Wisconsin
By Craig Haubert
It’s a good year for offensive linemen in Illinois and the Badgers have taken advantage of that by landing a commitment from four-star Jack Keeler (Barrington, Ill.). A prospect from the same school as 2012 Badgers signee Dan Voltz, Keeler is a real nice fit for Wisconsin.
A tall line prospect with the frame to develop into another monster-sized Badgers OL. He is a tough, nasty, and athletic run blocker. For a taller kid he comes off the ball low and hard and can knock defenders back. He also plays well in space, displaying good balance and agility. Needs refinement, but has the tools to be strong in pass protection as well with his long arms and nimble feet. He lines up at guard and could transition to the next level at that position, but could also play tackle in college we feel.
Really like this pick-up for Wisconsin, a good prospect who shows the size and tools to fit the mold very well of the type of fine lineman Wisconsin has produced in recent years. Voltz is already showing signs of a good career in Madison and with Keeler they could have scored big again from Barrington High School.
