North Carolina picked up its first two commitments for the 2013 class by landing teammates Khris Francis and Korrin Wiggins from nearby Hillside High School in Durham, N.C.
“They actually committed to coach [Larry] Fedora right before the [Duke] game,” Hillside coach Antonio King said. “We talked about it before they went and have a lot since UNC has offered. It’s a great opportunity because you have great athletics and academics at North Carolina. Both like the fact that’s UNC is close to home. They are both about 15 minutes away. So they are not scared about going to school there and feel pretty comfortable already with the new coaching staff.”
King said the Tar Heels are getting a complete back in the 5-foot-9, 190-pound Francis.
