Nebraska started its Saturday off right with a commitment from wide receiver Robert Lockhart (Boca Raton, Fla./Hinds Community College), but the coaches weren't finished.
Three-star linebacker Jaevon Walton (New Orleans/Edna Karr) also gave his commitment to the Cornhuskers on Saturday before the game against Michigan State, according to multiple reports. Walton is commit No. 15 for the Cornhuskers. Eleven of them are ranked as three-star prospects.
Walton had been committed to Louisiana-Lafayette, but flipped his commitment to Nebraska after taking a visit to Lincoln on Nov. 1.
The defense was a big question early in the seasonfor the Nebraska coaching staff, so any defensive help is accepted. Walton is the sixth defensive commit in the 2014 class and will provide help likely at a few linebacker positions.
Coming into the weekend, the Cornhuskers were outside the top 40 class rankings, but this is a step in the right direction toward adding depth to its roster.
