The Lobos and new coach Bob Davie received signed letters of intent from linebacker David Orvick (Los Altos, Calif./Foothill College) and offensive tackle Bryan Oldenkamp (Hesperia, Calif./Chaffey College), the official athletics website of the University of New Mexico reports.
Foothill linebackers coach Nark Saguid broke down Orvick's game:
"David is a 'tweener' - he can play linebacker or safety. He's very athletic, can cover one-on-one. He's also a very smart kid; family's important to him."
Bryan Oldenkamp impressed his former offensive coordinator Kiyoshi Harris:
"Brian is a very gifted athlete and is going to play all out every snap. He's very aggressive on the field, and he is one of those players who is very loyal."
