Specialist Freeman Jones (Bunn, N.C./Bunn) has committed to sign with North Carolina, multiple sources report.
The Tar Heels are the only program to offer at this time, but other schools, including Clemson and North Carolina State have recruited the 6-foot, 180-pound junior.
Last fall, Jones connected on 8 of 10 field goal attempts and sent more than 80 percent of kickoffs into the end zone for touchbacks.
He's North Carolina's third 2014 pledge, joining cornerback Tajze Battle (Fort Myers, Fla./Dunbar) and defensive end Robert Dinkins (Charlotte, N.C./Olympic), who both committed last June.
