Rutgers lands 2014 DB Saquan Hampton

Junior safety / cornerback Saquan Hampton (Trenton, N.J./Hamlton North-Nottingham) committed Thursday to sign with the Scarlet Knights, multiple sources report.
The 6-foot-1, 180-pound prospect registered an electronically-timed 4.82 40-yard dash, 4.62 20-yard shuttle, 27.6-inch vertical and 64.83 SPARQ at a Nike Combine prior to his junior year.
Rutgers is Hampton's only offer at this time. According to Rivals.com, UConn, UMass, Temple and Villanova also showed interest.
He is Rutgers' fourth 2014 pledge, joining linebacker Sidney Gopre (Newark, N.J./Weequahic), running back Joshua Hicks (Palmetto, Fla./Palmetto) and defensive end Justin Nelson (Wayne, N.J./De Paul Catholic).
