If this past weekend is any indication, Luke Rubenzer (Scottsdale, Ariz./Saguaro) is going to be a name heard quite frequently during the 7-on-7 season. The 6-foot, 180-pound quarterback shared duties for a loaded Arizona squad that came out firing at the NLA 7-on-7 Las Vegas.
With high school teammate Christian Kirk (Scottsdale, Ariz./Saguaro), to go along with standout receivers Tyler Whiley (Scottsdale, Ariz./Chaparral) and Jalen Brown (Phoenix, Ariz./Mountain Pointe), Rubenzer had a loaded group of receivers to work with. And when Brown returns from a shoulder injury he suffered early on in the tournament, this team will certainly be heard from again in future tournaments.
"It's a blast," Rubenzer said of playing with such a talented group. "I'm used to having Christian to work with, but when you throw in the other guys, it's just a blast. This is the most fun I've ever had."
