Kyle Long of Saddleback College (Mission Viejo, Calif.), the son of Pro Football Hall of Fame defensive lineman Howie Long and younger brother of St. Louis Rams defensive end Chris Long, has committed to play for Oregon, multiple sources report.
The 6-foot-7, 290-pound offensive tackle was also recruited by Auburn, Arkansas, UCLA, USC, Florida State, Utah, Washington State, Tennessee and Southern Methodist during this recruiting cycle.
He originally committed to play baseball at Florida State in 2008 out of St. Anne's-Belfield (Charlottesville, Va.), despite being rated as an ESPNU 150 football prospect.
The Ducks' nationally ranked recruiting class now has 17 verbals. Long also made an official visit Dec. 9 to Eugene, Ore.
