Texas Tech has gained its fourth and fifth commitments from junior college prospects in the past week, Rivals.com reports. After receiving three pledges from Riverside (Calif.) Community College, two from Mississippi Gulf Coast CC jumped on board over the weekend.
Wide receiver Javon Bell, who originally signed with South Carolina in 2010 out of Jacksonville (Fla.) Ribault High School, picked the Red Raiders over scholarship offers from Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Tennessee and the Gamecocks.
Offensive lineman Rashad Fortenberry, a Tylertown, Miss., native, gave head coach Tommy Tuberville his verbal over offers from South Florida and Louisiana-Lafayette.
Twenty-two players are now set to sign with the Red Raiders. ESPNU ranks Texas Tech's class as the nation's 16th best.
