For a player with video-game stats, Trae Hart (Dallas/First Baptist) is still considered as something of a recruiting enigma. At 5-foot-11 and 155 pounds, he has the speed and elusiveness to be great on a big-time level, but because he played at a small private school, he still has to answer questions.

No matter where or at what level he played, Hart’s stats are beyond impressive. He caught 108 passes for 2,044 yards and 29 touchdowns last season, averaging right at 19 yards per catch. A Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools all-state receiver, Hart led Dallas-area receivers in all classifications in receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns.

Hart took in SMU’s junior day on Saturday and had positive things to say about the campus and the program. While he doesn’t have an SMU offer yet, he has been in contact with assistant coach Jason Phillips, and the Mustangs are interested.
