Corey Holmes (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla./St. Thomas Aquinas) added yet another offer to his list on Wednesday afternoon.
While browsing on Facebook, a coach from West Virginia asked the wide receiver to call. The rest, of course, is history.
"I was messaging with the coach on Facebook and he told me to give me a call," he said. "I called him and he told me that they had a good 2013 class and went straight to my film, looked at my film, and they said they were really excited about me and I had an offer from West Virginia."
It comes as no surprise that the Mountaineers pass-heavy offense is appealing to Holmes. Holmes learned about the gaudy stats the receivers were able to put up last year and it seemed to really pique his interest.
"Definitely," Holmes began. "He reminded me on the phone that they had two receivers with over 100 receptions. That's amazing. It is a receiver's dream to play in an offense that just throws the ball as much as they do. It definitely appeals to me."
As far as the next couple weeks go, Holmes' schedule will be relatively quiet. He has no junior day visits set up, or any other unofficial trips for that matter.
Those will come later.
"I am probably going to wait until summertime to visit places," he said.
Holmes' other offers include Arkansas, Florida, Florida State, Houston, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame, Rutgers, South Carolina, Tennessee, UCLA and Wisconsin.
