One-time California verbal Deon Martin Jr. (Bakersfield, Calif./Stockdale) signed with Eastern Washington of the Football Championship Subdivision, according to the school's official website.
Martin is a 5-foot-8, 189-pound running back whom ESPN considers the nation's 66th-best running back in the nation. His evaluation states, "Martin is a small but explosive package at the running back position. He may be short but is thickly-built, compact with a wide power base. ... He can run between the tackles, get outside, pick up the blitz and catch the ball out of the backfield."
