The Georgia Southern Eagles, who finished 2012 ranked third in the Football Championship Subdivision, signed 23 players for this recruiting cycle, according to the school's official website.
High three-star defensive tackle Jay Ellison (Hamilton, Ga./Harris County) might be the gem of the group. Considered the No. 49-ranked DT by ESPN, Ellison also had scholarship offers from Auburn, Georgia Tech, Michigan, Michigan State, Mississippi State, North Carolina, Ole Miss, South Carolina and Tennessee.
Eighteen of the 23 signees are from Georgia and two hail from Florida. The class is rounded out by one prospect each from New Jersey, Ohio and South Carolina.
