OLB Keith Ewing (Bellaire, Texas) was looking for a stable coaching situation and found one at Washington State, the Bellaire Examiner reports.
Ewing also held offers from Arkansas, Arizona and Houston, but he was concerned about the coaching vacancies at the latter two.
"Coach Mike Leach has a contract for at least seven years. The coaching staff said I was the first on their list. I don't have to worry about the head coach situation, like UH or Arizona."
The 6-1, 215-pounder was the Class 5A-District Co-Defensive MVP as a senior.
