There are a couple of words to describe why Class of 2014 safety Vontre McQuinnie (Lancaster, Texas/Lancaster) decided to commit to Oklahoma on Saturday afternoon.
Consistency is one. The Sooners haven’t competed for a national championship the last few years, but OU is always in contention for 10-win seasons and Big 12 conference championships.
“They’re a consistent winning program,” McQuinnie said. “People have been telling me I’m good enough to play in the SEC, but I’d rather go to a school that dominates its conference like OU does with the Big 12. And it’s not just a one-year wonder, it’s every year.”
