Marshall adds versatile Floridian

Shykeem Pitts (Davenport, Fla./Ridge) committed Saturday to play for the Marshall Thundering Herd, multiple sources report. Pitts, who announced his verbal on Twitter, took an official visit to Huntington, W.Va., this weekend. Tennessee and Western Kentucky were among the other programs recruiting him.
The 5-foot-11, 175-pound senior is expected to play receiver for Marshall but filled a number of roles for Ridge. This fall, he threw for 339 yards and two touchdowns, rushed for 289 yards and seven more touchdowns, caught seven passes for 45 yards, made 10 tackles and forced a fumble.
