New offer has Domer rethinking options

Matt Domer said he is most like teenagers his age. He wants to get as far away from home as possible.

Or at least he did. But then the Chicago Mount Carmel running back visited Illinois on Sunday, and now the 2014 prospect is considering staying a little closer to the Windy City following an offer from the Illini.

“Before getting down I had my mind set like I’m not trying to stay in-state. I wanted to go out like any average kid,” Domer said, “but when I got down [to Illinois] I was going around and really enjoying what I was seeing. Before I had no thoughts on staying in-state, but this made a big difference.”
