PLANO, Texas -- For quite some time, Anthony Morgan (Plano, Texas/Prestonwood Christian) has known privately about his college plans. Wednesday afternoon, Morgan made those private thoughts public.
In front of family and friends, Morgan verbally committed to Iowa during an off-campus press conference, choosing the Hawkeyes over Arizona, Stanford, Virginia and Utah State. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound, three-star athlete played safety and saw partial time at outside linebacker for Prestonwood, but he was recruited by Iowa to play safety.
“I’ve known it was going to be Iowa since my junior year,” Morgan said. “I just kept on praying about it and talked to my parents. When I went on my visit and saw the players and coaches getting along, it really showed me a family atmosphere. It was great to see.”
