According to multiple sources, Boston College has lost a pledge from three-star wide receiver Dan Monteroso (St. Clairsville, Ohio/St. Clairsville).
The decision comes after Monteroso spent the weekend at Purdue on an official visit. Bowling Green, Iowa, Marshall and Ohio are his other scholarship offers. Duke, Michigan State, Pittsburgh and Virginia Tech were among the schools showing interest. Additionally, Rivals.com reports that Maryland has offered.
ESPN calls Monteroso, "a possession receiver who is deceptively fast with excellent size and long arms. Tall and wiry, he drives off the ball with a long and powerful stride ... has great hands, is reliable, tough and you know what you are going to get from him. He makes plays when called upon. Good player."
Boston College and new coach Steve Addazio are left with just 14 commitments following Monteroso's departure.
