Three-star tight end-H De'Marieya Nelson (Stockton, Calif./San Joaquin Delta College) committed Thursday to sign with Arizona State, multiple sources report. He officially visited the Sun Devils last weekend.
Fresno State, Memphis, Nevada, San Diego State (Dec. 7 official visit), Texas Tech, Utah State (Dec. 14 official visit) and Western Michigan also extended scholarship offers to the 6-foot-3, 230-pounder, who is ranked No. 80 in the ESPN JC 100.
Following junior college film evaluation, ESPN wrote, "Nelson is an intriguing jumbo athlete who lines up just about everywhere on offense. Projected best as an H-back, he is on the shorter side as far as tight ends go, but on the high side of versatility and athleticism... fits into many roles, even as a fullback or Wildcat QB."
