Long snapping pays off for Smith

January, 17, 2013
Adonis Smith (Cedar Hill, Texas/Cedar Hill) sees himself either as a wide receiver or tight end on offense, but he has spent the last couple of years honing his skills as a long snapper. He figured having that in his back pocket could earn him additional playing time at the next level.

Turns out, it will get him a chance to play FBS football.

Smith has verbally committed to attend Air Force and play for the Falcons. Recruited by offensive coordinator Blane Morgan, Smith is the 28th commitment of Air Force’s 2013 recruiting class. He is expected to join the team primarily as a long snapper to start out his career.
