Damian Williams (Metairie, La./Archbishop Rummel), a three-star dual-threat quarterback, committed Wednesday to play for Southern Miss, according to multiple reports.
Florida International, Kansas State, Louisiana-Monroe, Memphis, Nebraska and Tulane also extended scholarship offers to the 6-foot-1, 210-pound signal-caller. Florida Atlantic, Kent State, Mississippi State and Utah State showed interest.
ESPN states in his evaluation, "Williams is a very good looking player on the hoof. Shows good height and very good strength with a firm build. Has very good mobility and is a true dual threat QB ... has some tools despite just average height. Being in the shotgun would help him. Good fit for the spread offense."
Southern Miss has 19 pledges.
