Defensive end / tight end Chauntez Jackson (Inglewood, Calif./Inglewood) traveled to Houston over the weekend on an official visit as a Tennessee pledge but switched his commitment to the Cougars after returning home, multiple sources report.
Jackson, who originally selected the Volunteers in October, also holds scholarship offers from Colorado, Idaho State, Oregon State, San Diego State, Utah State and Washington State. Arizona, Nebraska, UCLA and USC were among the other schools to show some interest.
ESPN, which rates Jackson as a three-star, feels the best is yet to come from the 6-foot-4, 235-pound senior, stating in his evaluation, "Jackson is a prospect with some raw tools to work with but needs to keep developing his game to allow him to get more from his abilities."
The Cougars have 26 players on board for 2013.
