Versatile offensive lineman Kyle Morrison (Lee’s Summit, Mo./Lee’s Summit West) had an FBS offer and FBS looks, but the comfort level at one FCS school proved to be enough for him to make a verbal pledge.
Morrison verbally committed to Northern Iowa on Tuesday, a program that has built a healthy reputation for winning at the FCS level. The 6-foot-3, 285-pound lineman chose the Panthers over an offer from New Mexico and interest from Missouri, Nebraska and Indiana.
“I went on an official visit last week, and I felt like I was at home,” Morrison said. “It’s a great academic school, and I got along great with everybody there. I like the coaches, and after talking to some of the players, I just felt like it was the place for me.”
