Two-star quarterback Nick Mullens (Hoover, Ala./Spain Park) has switched his commitment from Jacksonville State to Alabama-Birmingham during an official visit this past weekend, according to multiple sources.
Mullens, who held an offer from Murray State as well, told al.com: "I had also been hearing from Arkansas State and Western Kentucky, but when UAB offered, it's where I knew I was going."
The 6-foot-2, 175-pound signal-caller was named Alabama's Gatorade Player of the Year in 2012 after throwing for 3,649 yards and 40 touchdowns. During his high school career, Mullens threw for 8,663 yards, which ranks seventh all-time in AHSAA history.
