Senior defensive end Markeis Reed (Napa, Calif./Vintage) is the first pledge for new Colorado head coach Mike MacIntyre, according to multiple sources.
Colorado State and Iowa State also extended scholarship offers to the 6-foot-4, 225-pound prospect.
Before Reed's decision, the last player to select Colorado was three-star outside linebacker Jimmie Gilbert (College Station, Texas/A&M Consolidated) on Nov. 12.
The Buffaloes have 13 verbals, including one four-star prospect in quarterback Sefo Liufau (Tacoma, Wash./Bellarmine) and 11 three-stars. Reed will receive his grade soon.
