New Mexico State has picked up a commitment from senior running back Marquette Washington (Fontana, Calif./Kaiser), according to multiple reports.
The Aggies are his only scholarship offer. According to Scout.com, programs including South Dakota State and Western New Mexico showed interest. 247Sports reports that Northern Arizona and Ohio, among others, recruited the 5-foot-9, 215-pound prospect.
“I think that’s good for him,” Kaiser coach Phil Zelaya told the Press Enterprise. “He’s worked hard for four years, and it’s a tribute to his character and hard work. I think it will be a good situation for him.”
New Mexico State has five players on board for 2013, including Riverside (Calif.) Community College defender Frazer Taua, who also recently verballed to the Aggies.
