Three-star junior college defensive tackle Edwin Delva (Lancaster, Calif./Antelope Valley College) played Santa Claus to the Oregon State faithful on Christmas.
Delva, who ranks as the nation's No. 51 junior college player, delivered a present to the Beavers in himself, as the highly touted, 6-foot-3, 275-pound tackle verbally committed to Oregon State via social media. He made the announcement via Twitter, then confirmed the announcement in a phone interview with ESPN.com.
Delva ultimately chose Oregon State over an offer from Kansas State, but he also had offers from Nebraska, Iowa State, Boise State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers and a host of other schools. He was recruited to Oregon State by defensive line coach Joe Seumalo. Delva, a mid-year transfer, signed with the Beavers on Christmas.
