Head coach Art Briles and Baylor welcomed four mid-year signees to the program this week, according to the school's official site.
The most notable addition was ESPN 300 quarterback Chris Johnson (Bryan, Texas/Bryan), who will graduate from high school early, has signed a financial aid contract, and will compete with the team during spring practice after enrolling for the semester.
Two junior college players, four-star tight end Gus Penning (Jenison, Mich./Riverside CC) and three-star center Tyler Edwards (Malvern, Ark./Blinn College), signed National Letters of Intent. Penning, No. 25 in the ESPN JC 100, caught 31 passes for 425 yards and 3 touchdowns this fall. Edwards heads to Baylor following a redshirt year at Arkansas Tech and two seasons at Blinn.
Also joining the program is wide receiver Kiante' Griffin (Hebron, Texas/Hebron), who signed a financial aid agreement. Griffin originally inked with the Bears in 2012 as a three-star prospect.
Baylor has 22 players committed or signed for its 2013 class.
