Wake Forest landed a pledge Wednesday from three-star cornerback Michael Stevenson (Clearwater, Fla./Central Catholic), according to multiple reports.
Central Catholic coach John Davis told the Tampa Bay Times, “It is a good fit for the school and for Mike. Wake Forest is getting a good one, because Mike can play.”
Akron, Bowling Green, Charleston Southern, Florida Atlantic, Middle Tennessee, Pittsburgh, South Florida, Temple, Central Florida and West Virginia also extended scholarship offers to Stevenson.
ESPN states in his scouting report, "Although Stevenson plays the defensive safety position efficiently, we feel his athletic skills warrant a move to the cornerback position once his collegiate career begins. Possesses the size, athleticism and playing speed for the corner spot at the major level of competition."
Stevenson (5-foot-11, 175-pounds) registered 91 tackles and three interceptions as a senior.
He is commitment No. 19 for the Demon Deacons.
