Three-star junior college linebacker Martrell Spaight (Coffeyville, Kan./Coffeyville CC) is staying closer to home.

At a ceremony at his old high school in North Little Rock, Ark., Spaight announced today that he has switched his commitment from Kansas State to Arkansas. A juco midyear transfer and a member of the ESPN Juco 100, Spaight signed his national letter of intent in front of family and friends.

After committing to Kansas State on Dec. 10, Spaight on Saturday hosted Arkansas coach Bret Bielema and safeties coach Bobby Allen for an in-home visit. The coaches offered him a scholarship at that time. The 6-foot, 220-pound linebacker is the program’s 16th commitment of the 2013 class.
