Syracuse adds more juco pieces

Sierra College (Roseville, Calif.) linebacker Luke Arciniega committed Monday to sign with the Orange, multiple sources report. He made an official visit to Syracuse for the weekend of Dec. 7.

Arciniega posted on Twitter, "Made my verbal commitment to play football for the University of Syracuse. Couldn't be more thankful for this opportunity. God is good!"

Memphis (Dec. 14 official visit) also extended a scholarship offer to the 6-foot-3, 240-pound prospect. Arciniega, who attended Sparks (Nev.) Spanish Springs High School before Sierra, received interest from Brigham Young and Miami (Fla.).

He registered 87 tackles and 5.5 sacks this fall.

Syracuse now has six junior college pledges for 2013, with five coming from defensive prospects.
