The race for speedy, three-star running back Rennie Childs (Houston/Cypress Ridge) is among four schools, and Childs said all four will get official visits.
Colorado State, Houston, Utah State and Boise State are on Childs’ list, and he took an official visit to Colorado State last week. Childs, a 5-foot-11, 182-pound back, visited Houston over the weekend and enjoyed the time spent with his player host, freshman wide receiver Larry McDuffey, and the rest of the Cougars.
“I liked the coaches and players. Everybody seemed real cool,” Childs said about Houston. “It was like they were all brothers. Plus, it’s close to home, and my family can come see me play all my games. They’re playing at Reliant Stadium next year, so that’s something else.”
