After taking a trip to Manhattan, Kan., Dakorey Johnson (Athens, Texas/Trinity Valley Community College) decided to make a commitment switch from Texas Tech to Kansas State. He also decided to continue a college football legacy.
Johnson has verbally committed to the Wildcats and will follow the footsteps of his older brother, wide receiver and 2001 NFL second-round draft pick Quincy Morgan. Johnson, a 6-foot-3, 200-pound outside linebacker is Kansas State’s 17th overall commit of the 2013 recruiting class and the ninth prospect to pledge this month.
Trinity Valley recruiting coordinator Will Reed first confirmed the news on Sunday. Johnson, who originally committed to Texas Tech on July 21, later confirmed the commitment. He took an official visit to Manhattan over the weekend and was won over by the overall atmosphere.
