It hasn’t exactly been a secret that Nebraska cornerback commitment Jonathan Cook (Spanish Fort, Ala./Spanish Fort) wanted a scholarship offer from the University of Alabama. After an impressive performance at the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game on Saturday, he received that offer and quickly flipped to the Crimson Tide.
“It’s something I’ve been wanting to do the whole time,” Cook said. “It’s always been the school that I wanted to play for, and that’s what I’m going to do. I just thank God for it.”
Alabama defensive coordinator Kirby Smart was in Montgomery, Ala., for the game, and he let Cook know he had the offer. The three-star defensive back also talked to UA head coach Nick Saban after the game.
