Quarterback Morgan Fennell (Norwalk, Calif./Cerritos) has been in this position before. Coming out of Long Beach (Calif.) Poly after guiding his team to consecutive CIF championships, the strong-armed Fennell searched for a college fit. There were a few calls and some interest shown, but nothing substantial that developed into scholarship offers.

Now, after successful seasons at Cerritos College, Fennell again finds himself looking for a fit at the next level, again with a solid body of work behind him. This season, the 6-foot-2, 215-pound quarterback completed nearly 60 percent of his passes for 1,786 yards and 19 touchdowns against four interceptions. Those numbers likely would have been even more impressive had a broken thumb on his throwing hand not limited him toward the end of the season.

In what turned out to be a five-point loss to eventual conference champion Ventura College, Fennell fractured a bone in the thumb of his throwing hand. He was pulled from the game at the end of the first quarter, though he'd already thrown for nearly 200 yards and two touchdowns. Fennell missed the following game, but pushed himself back onto the field to finish the season.
