The Mountaineers kicked off their 2013 class with a pair of FBS-quality recruits. According to multiple sources, three-star safety Anthony Covington (Charlotte/Mallard Creek) and coveted athlete Marcus Cox (Dacula, Ga./Dacula) have committed.
Covington, a 5-foot-11, 195-pound prospect who originally selected Pittsburgh, claims offers from East Carolina, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Miami-FL, Minnesota, Mississippi State, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Vanderbilt, Virginia and Wake Forest.
ESPN feels the BCS offers were warranted, stating that Covington possesses good toughness, instincts, awareness and ability to support the run in his evaluation.
