Speedy three-star athlete Dee Paul (Munday, Texas/Munday) has his sights set on a Texas Class A Division II state championship in two weeks. Munday is undefeated through 13 games, and a win against fellow undefeated Wellington (Texas) would put Paul in the title game.

That, and not recruiting, is Paul’s primary focus. The 6-foot, 170-pound athlete, however, did take time out on Monday and Tuesday to host Oklahoma State and Texas Tech, respectively, on in-home visits. Texas Tech receivers coach Sonny Cumbie visited Paul on Tuesday. Oklahoma State secondary coach Jason Jones visited on Monday.

Paul said Cumbie’s visit was refreshing and answered a lot of questions. Texas Tech currently is without a head coach, as Tommy Tuberville left to take the vacated position at Cincinnati.
