Official visits seem to have everything. The coaches. The players. The atmosphere. The hype of the college lifestyle.
For offensive lineman and Missouri commit Alec Abeln (St. Louis/University), the weekend visit to Columbia, Mo., had one major highlight -- the spread.
“The food was unbelievable,” said Abeln, a 6-foot-3, 280-pound interior lineman. “The first night, we went to the basketball arena, and they had all kinds of food. I know I had the 30-ounce prime rib, lobster tail and a loaded baked potato. I also had Tiger Stripe ice cream. The school’s got its own ice cream flavor.”
