When three-star cornerback Aneas Henricks (Bastrop, Texas/Bastrop) got the news Saturday about Tommy Tuberville leaving Texas Tech for Cincinnati, he, like many other Red Raiders commits, was left with an empty feeling.
For the time being, however, Henricks said he’s keeping his commitment solid with Texas Tech, but the 6-foot, 172-pound cornerback said he will continue to monitor the situation.
“I’m still committed, but I have to wait and talk it over with my people to decide what will be the best thing for me,” Henricks said. “The announcement was unexpected. I’ll be waiting to see if anyone else leaves and/or who the next head coach will be.”
Henricks was recruited by Red Raiders secondary coach John Lovett, but he also stays in touch with receivers coach Tommy Mainord. He committed to Texas Tech in September over offers from Wake Forest, Rice and Texas State.
