RB Diamante Wright showing worth

Running back Diamante Wright (Henderson, Texas/Henderson) broke the 1,000-yard rushing mark for the season last Friday. Emphatically.

Needing only 20 yards to get the mark, Wright had one of the best games of his career when Henderson needed him most, rushing 31 times for 291 yards and three touchdowns in a Texas Class 3A Division II playoff win against Celina (Texas). His team is three wins away from a state championship.

While Wright, who has 1,281 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns on the season, is hoping to end his high school career with a title, he’s also looking to impress more college scouts -- and he's using the Celina game as an audition tape of sorts. Wright said he’s only receiving interest from Tyler Junior College and Trinity Valley Community College.
