Anjeus Jones (Dallas/South Oak Cliff) can vouch for the old adage in recruiting: The first offer is always the hardest to get.
Late Tuesday, Jones got over that hump by picking up an offer from New Mexico State. It was the first offer for the 6-foot-3, 195-pound wide receiver who helped South Oak Cliff earn a 9-2 record and advance to the Texas Class 4A playoffs.
“I talked to Coach [Todd] Littlejohn, the wide receivers coach,” Jones said. “He said he was really pleased with my film, and he said they want me up there. He gave me the offer and said he wants me to come next weekend.
